My League of Legends tip of the day is this: If you are getting frustrated in the solo queue it's best to take a break until you can play with friends (i.e., not morons).
It seems every time I pull my win column several points ahead of my losses I have a horrible run of games to balance the sheet. Last night was a perfect example, having gone 0-3 over about 1.5 hours in Twisted Treeline (3v3). I think I've started feeling the first rumblings of what the Riot community lovingly calls "LoLrage." My wife had a good chuckle watching me hurl expletives at a deaf computer screen.
Game 1: We have both lane towers down and the bottom one to about 10%. We were ahead in killcount by a score of 12-4. All four of our deaths were attributed to an overconfident Anivia who kept pushing too far solo and getting ganked. On her fifth death solo she ragequits leaving Warwick and I to defend against Galio, Udyr, and Twitch. Yeaaaaaah, that's going to happen. After a couple team-fights and two lost towers we just surrendered.
Game 2: I end up with another Warwick and a Twisted Fate this time, which looks kind of promising until we get matched up against Morgana, Heimer, and Cho'Gath. WW is solo laning bottom against Morg while TF and myself (Rammus) are barely holding our own up top. Not even 5 minutes into the game our bottom tower falls. Apparently our WW is unresponsive. Morg joins the other two in top lane and they take our top tower too. Five minutes later WW comes back apologizing saying he was on the phone. Wow... More expletives were muttered. Every team fight we engaged in our WW would jump on Cho instead of the squishier targets. He just kept feeding them. No shock we lost this one too.
Game 3: After scoring a few early game ganks I thought we'd have a chance here. Unfortunately, our Kat was a too cocky and kept feeding their Cho (she was like 2-8). Our TF was off jungling most of the time instead of helping in our lanes or setting up additional ganks. By the 25 minute mark their Cho was level 15 with us at level 12. They had an indestructible Udyr and a sneaky Twitch that made them pretty much untouchable.
Overnight I'd gone from having a great time to having a piss poor time playing LoL. I won't say I was perfect in these matches, but I don't think I ever did anything overly stupid. Well, I guess you could call jumping to the defense of my idiot groupmates and dying myself stupid, but what's a tank to do?
